Every White Duck tent starts with 10.10 oz cotton Army Duck canvas, treated to resist water on its own. Even so, thousands of stitching holes run through each seam. Years of sun, tree sap, and stove sparks wear down that water-resistant coating faster than most campers expect. A rain fly sits above the tent as a second layer, so weather and wear hit the fly first instead of the canvas underneath.
This matters most during multi-week base camps, wet climates, or any trip where a wood stove runs for hours at a time. A stray spark that would scorch canvas barely marks a polyethylene or polyester fly. A torn fly also costs far less to replace than a damaged tent roof.
Wall Tent Fly Sheets
Wall tent fly sheets are cut from 6 oz waterproof polyethylene, sized to match Alpha Wall Tents from 8x10 up through 16x30. Extended sizes run long enough to cover the porch as well as the tent. This helps anyone who has added a canvas porch for gear storage or cooking space. Every wall tent fly sheet includes a stove jack opening, so a wood stove keeps running with the fly in place.
Bell and Scout Tent Fly Sheets
Bell and Scout tent fly sheets use a lighter, 100 percent waterproof polyester, built for Regatta, Avalon, and Rover Scout tents. A built-in air gap between the fly and the canvas helps regulate temperature. The inside stays cooler in summer and warmer once the nights turn cold, and moisture escapes instead of getting trapped. These fly sheets attach to the same stakes already holding down the tent, so one person can pitch a fly in minutes.
Every fly sheet in this collection includes sturdy D-rings and UV-resistant reflective guy ropes with adjustable runners. Picking the right size comes down to matching the fly to the exact tent model and footprint. A loose or undersized fly will not seal properly at the corners. Check the tent's listed dimensions before choosing a fly sheet.
