What’s the difference between the Regatta and Avalon bell tents? What’s the difference between the Regatta and Avalon bell tents?

At a fundamental level, the Regatta is a functional, affordable, high-performance bell tent for almost any activity. The Avalon, on the other hand, is a premium, luxury bell tent designed for comfort and a glamping-style experience.

More specifically:

  • The Regatta is made from 8.5 oz army duck canvas, compared to the Avalon's 10.10 oz army duck canvas fabric.
  • The wall height of the Regatta is 2'7" vs. 3' for the Avalon.
  • The Avalon has windows all around the walls (10 or 12 depending on the size) whereas the Regatta has 5 windows.
  • The Avalon's walls can be rolled up for canopy-style living.
  • The Avalon has a zippered floor, whereas the Regatta has a sewn-in floor
  • The Avalon has a higher center height for the 16' and larger sizes
  • Avalon sizes are 13', 16.5', 20' and 23' (Optimus). Regatta sizes are 8' (Mini), 10', 13' and 16.5'.
  • The Regatta has a door pole in the entrance, the Avalon has an A-frame doorway.

The Prota Deluxe cabin tents have windows on the sides/walls as well, so you get 360-degree views from inside the tent. The standard Prota only has windows on the front and back of the tent.

All of our tents come with a stove jack except the 8' Mini Regatta bell tent and the Prota cabin tent series.

All of our tents come with a floor. The Regatta bell tents and Prota cabin tents have a sewn-in floor, the Avalon bell tents have a zippered floor and the Alpha wall tents have a free-floating floor.

What’s the difference between water repellent (WR) and fire water repellent (FWR)? What’s the difference between water repellent (WR) and fire water repellent (FWR)?

As a standard, we apply our proprietary breathable, PFC-free treatment to all tents. This treats the tent to be water-repellent, UV-resistant and mold & mildew resistant. You also have the option of paying an additional amount for the FWR treatment, which is the standard treatment plus a flame retardant finish.

Note that the FWR option is not available for the 8' Mini Regatta, the 10' Regatta, and the Prota cabin tent series.
